AMC gearbox inspection cover, engraved Matchless, 45 degrees with hole.
Made from die cast polished aluminium, as original. The engraving is 1.5mm deep, clear and looks great. The edges are well defined, making it possible to fill with paint if you wish. Picture doesn’t do it justice!
This cover has the small hole for venting, so it can be used on early or late models. Basically, if you don’t allow the gearbox to vent, pressure can build up and force oil along the hole in the mainshaft, causing clutch problems.
